Santal SA grew out of a family atelier founded more than three decades ago by the father of Kyrylo Bastrychev. That workshop earned a reputation for meticulous stone façades and finely detailed interiors long before “boutique practice” became a marketing term. Today the lineage continues under the banner of Santal SA: a Swiss-registered studio serving private owners and institutional developers across Europe and the Middle East, yet still animated by the patient craftsmanship of its origin.

Design philosophy
A place must first feel right: the hush of thick stone under bare feet, the slow travel of daylight across a timber wall, the gentle echo that tells you volumes are perfectly tuned. Our architecture frames sky, water and horizon rather than competing with them; glass dissolves, concrete folds into the landscape, wood carries the scent of the hillside it came from.

Calm is deliberate
We refine slab edges as carefully as we position a bedside sconce, because serenity rises from invisible precision. When structure, services and furniture click into the same quiet rhythm, nothing asks for attention—everything simply works.

Materials earn their patina
Bronze deepens, oak softens, travertine records the passing of the sun; the older a Santal space becomes, the more persuasive its character. We choose what will age well and demand little, trusting the elements to finish our work over time.
