Villa L

Specs

Area: 460 m²

Year: 2024

Type: Residential

Involvement Level: Architecture, Interior Design

Description

Villa Lugano is a terraced residence set on a slope with an uninterrupted panorama of the lake and city. The architecture steps into the terrain to form deep terraces and slender overhangs, while a crisp white roof line accentuates the horizon. Facades are clad in large-format granite sourced from a local Swiss quarry, anchoring the house to its setting of vineyards and stone. Floor-to-ceiling glazing is built on Swiss Soreg systems with ultra-slim profiles, dissolving thresholds so that exterior and interior read as one continuous space.

The rooftop is conceived as the signature guest panorama: a swimming pool with double sun loungers, generous lounge islands with Minotti 2024 pieces, and a central fire feature for evenings above the water. At ground level, a vast sofa composition and a fully equipped barbecue area create an outdoor living room. This terrace has direct access from the guest parking, allowing visitors to reach the exterior lounges and the rooftop pool as a unified guest zone without passing through the house.

Inside, the main living floor opens to a long dining table and a soft, layered salon furnished with the latest Minotti 2024 collection, set against warm timber paneling and concealed lighting. On the lower ground floor, four bedrooms open to private terraces carved into the slope, offering quiet vantage points over the lake. The basement level is dedicated to wellness with a full SPA: sauna, hammam, and a calm relaxation room for long, restorative stays.

The garage features a showroom-style panoramic window framing Lugano as a backdrop—cars displayed with the city beyond. Designed to host up to twelve guests in comfort, the house pairs generous social terraces with discreet private quarters, seamless vertical circulation, and robust Swiss detailing throughout. It occupies what is arguably the finest vantage point in Lugano, a rare site that combines commanding views with the convenience of walking access to the lakefront promenade.
